In today’s day and age, YouTube is undoubtedly one of the best and most known platforms for content creators and people rely on it a lot for their brand awareness, brand engagement, and brand recall. As a YouTuber, with their own channel, one has to put in a lot of effort into personal branding and efficiently use it as a medium of audience discovery for your business and make a significant financial addition to your income in the process. In this article,  you will get a better idea of the YouTube CPM  rates in Bangladesh across different video ad types.

Despite being a secondary source of revenue, YouTube ads drive a substantial source of income once you cross the 100k subscriber mark and continue to have ongoing viewership on channel videos. It is important to remember that video ad CPMs are dependent on various factors like the niche of the videos, the keywords that are used and if the individual continues to have the same kind of viewership. Largely, the ads that have the highest CPMs in the auctions are ones based around digital SAS based products and the ones with the least CPMs are those around general niches that are for brand recall and video viewership campaigns. You can see the segmentation of the content category based on the ad CPM rates for YouTube.

SAS/Online Marketing>Insurance and Credit Cards> Finance> Business and Startups> Tech> Health and Parenting> Careers and Jobs> Lifestyle> Education> People and Society> Art> Music and Movies> Songs

This must have given you a fair idea of the niche or the content category likely to generate the highest and the lowest revenue. You can also now see the kinds of ads offered and see what generates the highest revenues in terms of CPM. Largely, YouTube ads are classified into- display ads, overlay ads, skippable ads, non-skippable ads, bumper ads, and sponsored cards. From the ones mentioned, only display and overlay ads are eligible for desktop views and the others work well for both mobile and desktop.

YouTube Skippable Ads CPM in Bangladesh

The ads a viewer can skip post having viewed it for 5 seconds is skippable ads. The CPM for this ad is usually around the range of $1.5 to $2.5 for ads based on actions. However, when there is reserved skippable ads,  they have slightly higher CPM range that hovers around $2-$3.5. These ads are absolutely perfect from a user experience point of view because it can be skipped the viewer if they do not engage well the displayed ad.

YouTube Bumper Ads CPM in Bangladesh

The ads that go on for the very short duration of 6 seconds and are usually displayed on most of the videos only in cases where the non-skippable and skippable ads do not have much demand is bumper ads. They usually have low CPMs and if you get anything around $0.80 to $2 range, that is pretty much phenomenal. They are great if you wish to make your brand more visible and also have the same CPMs across most channels in comparison with other video ad unit types.

YouTube Display Ads CPM in Bangladesh

The ads that appear as a companion ad in the sidebar of the video screen when one views something on desktop or laptop is display ads. At times, YouTube also displays overlay ads, which is just another kind of display ads in cases where the demand for video ads is lower. It is mostly acting like a backfill for monetization of the remaining impressions at a lower cost. In Bangladesh, the CPM for it must be around $0.30. The CPMs for display ads can be higher or lower than the range given because they are dependent and varying on a large number of factors.

YouTube Non-Skippable Ads CPM in Bangladesh

Non-skippable ads are ones that the user necessarily has to watch if they wish to watch the video too. The duration of these kinds of ads is about 15 seconds to 30 seconds. They have both the highest view rate and completion rate, which automatically lets them have the highest CPMs. The only scenario where the skippable ads can possibly have higher CPMs is when a large number of skippable ads is being viewed by the visitor. An important rule is to enable the non-skippable ads in the monetization section of individual videos because it remains unchecked most of the times. If your videos have a high watch time, you can get a customized setup of the mid-roll ads on videos that last longer than 8 minutes.

YouTube Reserved vs. Auction Ads

The reserved or auction ads are most just skippable and non-skippable ads. The auction ads are bought in real-time by advertisers and have no guarantee of any minimum fill commitments. On the contrary, reserved ads come with a specified fill quota and hence, have a higher price than auction ads. Most advertisers wish to secure guaranteed impressions for their ads and hence prefer reserved ad type to get the minimum fill commitment. If the videos on your channel see more of reserved ads, you will undoubtedly see an increase in your CPMs eventually.

YouTube CPM Rates in India for Lifestyle Channel

One of my YouTube channels is for the female audience and centred on makeup, grooming and lifestyle. The major number of its audience is around the age group of 22-30. The CPM for the overall channel is around more than $1.5 if display ads are not considered. However, the one who manages the channel receives so many free products for the purpose of brand review and end up with products and goodies of more than 30K  each month for reviews.

YouTube CPM Rates in Bangladesh

Here is a segmented overview of the CPM provided for Bangladesh. It is important to note that these are all off auctions-

  • Skippable videos- $ 1.55
  • Bumper ads- $ 1.16
  • Non-skippable video ads- $ 3.66
  • Display ads- $0.28

You should remember that most of the YouTubers get their revenue from direct sponsorships, brand endorsements, and personal branding. The revenue from advertisements on YouTube is not even 20% of what they make from external deals.

It is understandable that the first few years of YouTubing is very difficult and reaching any mark organically is very difficult, but you simply have to have faith and continue.
